Terms of Service
These terms are a simple starting point for using Gentlybot. Gentlybot helps teams understand their product and codebase, answer questions, create work, and preview changes through the app and connected services like Slack and GitHub.
Using Gentlybot
You may use Gentlybot only for lawful business purposes and only with systems, repositories, workspaces, and data that you are authorized to access. You are responsible for the prompts, files, repositories, credentials, and integration permissions you provide.
Accounts and access
Access may be invite-only or limited to approved organizations. You are responsible for keeping your account secure and for activity under your account or organization. We may suspend access if use creates security, legal, operational, or abuse concerns.
Customer content
You keep ownership of your content, including prompts, documents, code, repository data, configuration, and outputs generated for your organization. You grant Gentlybot permission to process that content as needed to provide, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the service.
Data storage
Gentlybot production runs on AWS in the United States, currently in us-east-2. Core service records are stored in private AWS RDS Postgres. Secrets are stored in AWS Secrets Manager. Sandbox and preview artifacts may be stored in private AWS S3 buckets, including workspace bundles, service volume snapshots, screenshots, videos, logs, and other generated files. Some temporary sandbox artifacts have lifecycle cleanup rules and may be deleted automatically.
In development environments, artifact files may be stored on local disk under the configured GENTLY_DATA_DIR. Production data should not be stored in the app repository.
Integrations and third-party services
Gentlybot works by connecting to services you authorize, such as Slack, GitHub, AI model providers, email, and cloud infrastructure. Those services may process data under their own terms and policies. You are responsible for ensuring your use of those services with Gentlybot is allowed.
AI-generated output
Gentlybot uses AI to draft answers, analyze context, and perform work. Outputs may be incomplete or incorrect. You are responsible for reviewing outputs before relying on them, sharing them, merging code, or taking business action.
Acceptable use
Do not use Gentlybot to violate laws, access systems without authorization, exfiltrate secrets, upload malicious code, interfere with the service, or bypass security controls. Do not intentionally provide data you are not permitted to process through Gentlybot.
Availability and changes
Gentlybot may change as we build and improve the product. Features may be added, removed, limited, or interrupted. We will work to keep the service reliable, but it is provided without a guaranteed uptime commitment unless a separate written agreement says otherwise.
Disclaimers and liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Gentlybot is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. Gentlybot is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill, or business opportunity.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the product changes. We will update the date above when we make material changes. Continued use of Gentlybot after changes means you accept the updated terms.
