Gentlybot Desktop

Run Gentlybot threads in Docker on an Apple Silicon Mac while keeping the same shared thread, evidence, and review workflow.

  • An Apple Silicon Mac (M1 or later).
  • OrbStack (recommended) or Docker Desktop, installed and running.
  • A Gentlybot account with access to the workspace you want to connect.
Download Gentlybot Desktop
  1. 1

    Download and open the app

Install the current macOS build from the Download page. The first-run window checks that the Mac and Docker are ready.

  2. 2

    Sign in and connect

Choose “Sign in & connect”. Gentlybot opens your browser for approval, registers this Mac with the workspace, then opens the signed-in app.

  3. 3

Prepare the projects you use most

Desktop can prepare selected projects immediately so their first local run starts faster. You can skip this and prepare them later from This Mac.

  4. 4

    Choose where a thread runs

Start a new thread and use the “Runs on” picker to choose This Mac. Cloud remains available, and an offline Mac stays visible but cannot be selected.

Connection and run policy

See whether the workspace is online, pause or resume new runs, set a parallel-run limit, and optionally pause when the Mac is on battery power.

Projects and live work

Prepare projects, see the threads currently running on the Mac, and open either the thread or its live preview.

Local HTTPS previews

Trust the local preview certificate once, then open *.gently.localhost previews in browsers on this Mac without certificate warnings.

Storage

Review Docker disk usage and clean up Gentlybot images, sandboxes, volumes, and build cache from the This Mac page.

Local AI and desktop CLIs

Connect supported local AI endpoints and use device-bound Claude Code or Codex options when they are available on the selected Mac.

Updates and notifications

Check for Desktop updates from This Mac and receive native notifications when a run finishes or needs your attention.

One Mac can connect to more than one workspace

Open a different workspace inside Gentlybot Desktop and choose “Connect this workspace”. Each workspace keeps its own accept-runs switch, while machine-wide limits such as parallel runs apply to the Mac.
